CUSTOM AWNINGS
-------------

Creating a Custom Fabric Awning or Canopy

After an initial visit to your property, or the review of new building construction plans, our Sales/Design staff recommend colors, style and the placement of your awnings.

Using computer simulation, we can superimpose different styles of awnings on a photo or rendering of the building, to provide a clear idea of what you will receive. A formal proposal is then prepared, incorporating the agreed-upon specifications.

Quality Welding & Materials

Our frames are constructed of 1" x 1" or 2" x 2" steel or aluminum square tubing. We use either 16 gauge galvanized steel or 12 gauge extruded aluminum. The frames are carefully welded together and are engineered to provide the greatest amount of strength using the least amount of material. If elected, the frames are painted to your choice of colors. The awning frames are professionally painted using an electrostatic or powder coating process. Each frame receives a tough primer coat and then a thick finish coat. The result is a finish that is warranted for five years. Prior to painting, all rough edges are sanded smooth to protect the fabric.

Once the frame is completed, the cover is sewn from your selected fabric. Fitting the fabric cover to the frame is a critical process. Any errors in measurement or sewing will produce either sags or wrinkles - or if the cover is too small, it can cause thread to weaken and break prematurely.

Quality Sewing & Materials

Thread is a potential weakness in most awnings. Some manufacturers use thread that will fail after just two to three years of use. The labor involved in removing the fabric, resewing and reinstallation is very expensive.

Coversol is proud to use the very highest quality thread in our awnings. It is ten times more expensive than normal thread - and it is well worth the price. It will easily outlast the life of any fabric cover. The thread is impervious to chemicals (even chlorine), sun and salt.

Quality Craftsmanship

Once the cover is sewn, it is either laced on with small diameter rope - or in some instances (on aluminum frames only) it is securely stapled into position.

Frames are mounted to the wall using stainless steel bolts and, if necessary (on larger awnings), attached to posts anchored in concrete.
